About this event
The bardo teachings of Tibetan Buddhism are commonly seen as guidance for navigating the process of dying and rebirth, but they are much more than that. They provide practical instructions for the preparation of what Mingyur Rinpoche calls the “big day”, and show us how to approach the transitory experience of this life with clarity and wisdom, offering us the most meaningful path for living.
“Bardo” means gap or intermediary state. While it is most famously linked to the transition between death and rebirth, bardo also refers to the countless in-between moments we experience every day. If we notice them, these gaps – interruptions to our routines and patterns – are great opportunities to glimpse the true nature of mind.
In 2023, Minyur Rinpoche gave a series of teachings on the six bardos: the bardos of this life, dreaming, meditation, dying, dharmata, and becoming. He gave clear instructions for contemplation and meditation for each stage, helping us make the most of these transformative moments.
In this retreat, we will revisit Rinpoche’s teachings through video sessions, complemented by step-by-step practice guidance. Led by Tzunma Miao Rong, the retreat will offer opportunities to deepen your understanding, clarify questions, and fully engage with these profound practices in a supportive environment.
If you’ve encountered bardo teachings and found their wisdom essential, we invite you to join us for this special retreat. Together, we’ll explore the gaps of this life and beyond, and awaken to the potential they hold.
